YAZIO alternative

YAZIO alternative: An honest comparison

YAZIO and CaloriePix both offer AI photo logging, voice and text logging, and neither makes you sign up to start. YAZIO adds fasting, recipes and meal plans, while CaloriePix focuses on quick logging with a nutrition-label scan and an editable estimate for each item.

This page is written by the developer of CaloriePix, so read it as a comparison from one of the two apps. Every YAZIO fact links to YAZIO's own store listings, website or help center. Where we couldn't confirm something, the table says "Not stated".

Where CaloriePix is different
  • Nutrition-label scan. Point the camera at the label on a pack and the numbers are read for you.
  • Fiber, sugar and sodium for every food. They appear next to protein, carbs and fat on every plan, including the Android free plan.
  • No ads. CaloriePix doesn't show ads in any plan.
  • Diary on your phone. There's no account to create at all, and your meals, weight and goals stay on your device.
  • A smaller, focused app. CaloriePix covers calories, macros, weight, exercise and streaks, and leaves out fasting, recipes and water.
Where YAZIO is stronger

YAZIO does a lot more than food logging.

  • Intermittent fasting. YAZIO offers 20 fasting trackers, including 16:8, 5:2 and 6:1. The 16:8 tracker is free and the others need Pro. CaloriePix has no fasting features.
  • Recipes and meal plans. YAZIO lists around 3,000 recipes made by its nutrition team, plus meal plans and grocery lists on Pro.
  • Water tracking. A water tracker with reminders. CaloriePix doesn't track water.
  • Wearables. Apple Health and Health Connect are free, and Pro adds Fitbit, Garmin, Polar and Samsung Health. There's also an Apple Watch app. CaloriePix connects to Apple Health on iPhone only.
  • Food database and reach. A database of 4 million+ searchable foods that covers 249 countries and territories, in 20 languages.
  • Scale. On 2026-10-09 YAZIO had 869K reviews and 50M+ downloads on Google Play, and a 4.7 average from 51,093 ratings on the US App Store.
